My charcoal drawings particularly reflect my own solitary journeys through the rural landscape.
My work is about materials. I am fascinated with the scope which each different media offers.
I produce final drawings which are a composite of sights, impressions and feelings.
I describe myself as an interdisciplinarian and my practice is based upon the convergence of art forms within a conceptual framework.
Taking up a studio at Southwell Artspace includes some special features. We have a beautiful gallery space that you are invited to show work once a year. The active Southwell Artists Group lead a town-wide Open Studios event bi-annually that draws plenty of attention to Artspace residents.
We are also able to draw on the expertise of well-respected lecturers, business professionals and curators through our mentoring scheme to help build your career and develop associated skills. Leading workshops at the space, in local schools or historic sites are all options.
Being supportive and ambitious is what we do best.
