February Half Term Workshops

Providing creative activities and excitement for children and young people, Artspace sprang into life during February half term with its ever popular artist-led workshops.

Brilliant Bowls, led by Artspace Artist Debra Tatham, Wednesday 13th February
Eight children aged 7 to 12 learnt how to design their own picture patterns and create a brilliant bowl from brightly coloured paper pulp. This messy workshop was great fun for all.

Playful Puppets, led by Artist, Rachel Scanlon, Thursday 14th February
Participants were invited to stick, stitch or stencil felt hand puppets, then create and perform a play on a small handmade theatre set. The nine children aged 7 to 12 then performed for parents at the end of the day showing off what they had made.

Beastly Books, led by Artspace Artist, Glyn Brewerton, Friday 15th February
Seven young people aged 11 to 16 enjoyed learning how to make hardback books and then illustrating them with their own animal fantasy world. The imaginations prevailed of those involved and all got to take home their own handmade book at the end of the day.
