Minster School Chapel

Artist Carole Waller has been selected to undertake a major commission for the new Southwell Minster School, opening in September 2007. The selection process involved a panel of pupils, the architect Rafael Marks, Head Phil Blinston and staff from Southwell Artspace.

Carole Waller will be designing the chapel’s skylight and side window, combining her richly colourful and vibrant painting style with the skill of German based, glassmakers, Derix who will translate her ideas into reality. Carole is based near Bath and began her career working in textiles before integrating glass in recent years (http://www.carolewaller.co.uk).

‘We are thrilled to have commissioned these pieces which will enhance the chapel space which is at the heart of the new school. We thoroughly enjoyed the process of selection and were pleased at the level of interest in the school and its future developments’
Head Phil Blinston

Southwell Artspace have project managed this public art commission and are developing a 3 year artists programme for the Minster School.
